The first thing to say is that you don’t HAVE to be a Baptist to worship with us....anyone is welcome to our services.
We use onscreen “hymn projection” , but we also have hymnbooks available to use.
We try and strike a balance between tradition and innovation, contemplation and celebration, and hope to get it right most of the time.
In the morning (10:30) service the children stay in for the first 20 minutes, which includes time dedicated to them. They then have their own activities in the halls. Click here for details.
The service is usually led by the minister, with others participating in reading or leading prayers. Like most Baptist churches, we give a prominent place to the sermon, which is usually about 20 minutes long. The sermon itself isn’t just 'teaching'; it aims to engage our imaginations and help us make connections between our lives and the lives of God’s people in the Scriptures.
Our evening services at 6:30 pm most Sundays take a variety of forms. Sometimes prayer & meditation, sometimes “Iona-style”. On the second Sunday evening each month all the churches in the village join together for a United Service at one church.
On the fourth Sunday evening in the month there is NO service in our church.
Holy Communion - The Lord’s Supper - is celebrated twice each month
